AI OS Community Edition License Agreement

Effective Date: June 1, 2026

This License Agreement (“Agreement”) is a legal agreement between you (“Licensee,” “you,” or “your”) and AI OS Orchestration Lab (“Licensor,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the AI OS Community Edition software (“Software”). By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement.

1. Overview

The AI OS Community Edition is the free, open-source core of the AI OS platform. It is designed for self-hosted deployment and is released under an MIT-style permissive license. The Community Edition provides a fully functional multi-agent orchestration platform suitable for personal projects, commercial applications, educational use, and experimentation.

This Agreement governs the rights and obligations associated with your use of the Community Edition. Separate license agreements govern the Business Edition and Enterprise Edition.

2. Grant of License

Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, the Licensor hereby grants you a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to:

  • Use the Software for any lawful purpose, including personal, commercial, and educational use;
  • Copy the Software and distribute copies to third parties;
  • Modify the Software and create derivative works based upon it;
  • Distribute the Software, in original or modified form, subject to the attribution requirements in Section 9;
  • Sublicense the Software to third parties under terms no less restrictive than this Agreement.

This license applies to the Community Edition codebase only. Features designated as Business or Enterprise features are not included in this license and require a separate paid license to activate.

3. What’s Included

The Community Edition includes the following features and capabilities at no cost:

4. What’s NOT Included

The following features are not available in the Community Edition and require a Business ($1,997) or Enterprise ($4,997) license to unlock:

  • Custom branding for your own instance (your logo & color theme)
  • Gemini Omni Creative Studio
  • YouTube Intelligence module
  • Custom agent creation and configuration
  • Advanced reporting and analytics dashboards
  • Browser automation agent
  • Lead generation engine
  • Product factory module
  • Marketing hub
  • Video meetings integration
  • Grok Intel module
  • Design system module
  • Agent builder (visual agent creation)
  • SSO / SAML authentication (Enterprise only)
  • Priority support with target response times (Enterprise only)

Attempting to activate or access Business or Enterprise features without a valid license key is a violation of this Agreement.

5. Your API Keys

The AI OS platform requires API keys from third-party AI providers to function. You are solely responsible for providing your own API keys for all third-party services, including but not limited to:

  • Anthropic (Claude models)
  • Google (Gemini models)
  • DeepSeek
  • OpenAI
  • Any other AI or cloud service provider integrated with the platform

All costs, charges, usage fees, and rate limits imposed by third-party providers are your sole responsibility. AI OS Orchestration Lab has no relationship with your third-party provider accounts and bears no liability for charges incurred through your use of their services.

6. Self-Hosting Responsibility

The Community Edition is designed for self-hosted deployment. Because you deploy on your own VPS, custom domain support is included in all self-hosted tiers, including the Community Edition. You may host AI OS on any domain you own (e.g., ai.yourcompany.com). The only exception is the free hosted demo, which runs on our infrastructure and does not support custom domains.

By using the Software, you acknowledge and accept full responsibility for:

  • Server infrastructure — provisioning, configuring, and maintaining the server(s) on which the Software runs;
  • Security — implementing appropriate security measures, including firewalls, access controls, encryption, and vulnerability patching;
  • Backups — maintaining regular backups of your data and configurations;
  • Updates — applying software updates and security patches in a timely manner;
  • Compliance — ensuring your deployment complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, including data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).

AI OS Orchestration Lab does not provide hosting, managed infrastructure, or system administration services for the Community Edition.

7. No Warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE LICENSOR DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

You assume the entire risk as to the quality and performance of the Software. Should the Software prove defective, you assume the cost of all necessary servicing, repair, or correction.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL AI OS ORCHESTRATION LAB, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THIS AGREEMENT OR THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE LICENSOR’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THIS AGREEMENT EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF ZERO DOLLARS ($0.00), REFLECTING THE FREE NATURE OF THE COMMUNITY EDITION.

9. Attribution

As a condition of this license, you must retain the following attribution in a visible location within the footer of any deployed instance of the Software:

This attribution must remain visible and unmodified in all public deployments of the Community Edition.

Attribution is not required in source code repositories, development environments, or internal testing deployments that are not publicly accessible.

10. Modifications

You are free to modify the source code of the Community Edition to suit your needs. However:

  • All modifications are made at your own risk and are your sole responsibility;
  • AI OS Orchestration Lab is under no obligation to provide support, bug fixes, or compatibility updates for modified installations;
  • Modified versions must not be represented as the official AI OS software unless the modifications have been accepted into the official codebase;
  • If you distribute a modified version, you must clearly indicate that it has been modified and must not misrepresent the origin of the Software.

11. Upgrade Path

You may upgrade from the Community Edition to a paid license at any time:

Upon purchase and license key validation, all commercial features associated with your chosen tier will activate immediately on your existing installation. No data migration or reinstallation is required. Your Community Edition deployment will seamlessly unlock the additional capabilities of your new license tier.

12. Termination

This license is perpetual and does not expire, provided you comply with its terms. However, the Licensor may terminate this Agreement immediately upon written notice if you:

  • Violate any material term of this Agreement;
  • Attempt to activate or use Business or Enterprise features without a valid license;
  • Remove or alter the required attribution without authorization;
  • Use the Software for any unlawful purpose.

Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies in your possession. The following sections survive termination: Section 7 (No Warranty), Section 8 (Limitation of Liability), and this Section 12 (Termination).

Termination of this Agreement does not affect any rights or obligations that accrued prior to the effective date of termination.
